SMS SAPX aims to make sapx.org usable by as many people as practical. This page describes the design practices the site follows today.
Practices this site follows
- One main heading per page and a logical heading order
- Page landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a skip-to-content link
- Navigation, menus, search, filters and forms can be operated with a keyboard
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Layouts adapt from small phones to large screens without sideways scrolling
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion
- Form fields have visible labels, errors are listed with links to each field, and status changes are announced
- Interactive controls are sized for touch
How it is checked
- Pages are checked with automated browser tests at mobile and desktop widths for headings, sideways scrolling and console errors
- Keyboard and form behaviour is checked during each release
- No formal accessibility certification or independent third-party audit has been completed
